Civil Rights and Liberties
Workshops, discussion, exhibitions and film screenings introducing the concept of inequality and the importance of civil rights and liberties to institutionalize democratic procedures, ensure the protection of human rights, and establish the rule of law to create stability, peace and prosperity.
What we do
Our Civil Rights and Liberties program uplifts marginalized stories and encourage participants to be sensitive to their own priviledge and the injustices around them.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn and understand the history of slavery and inequality and their effects on society. They will write about and share experiences of having seen or experienced inequality.
Activities
Through readings and discussions, participants will get an understanding of the civil rights and liberties movement in the U.S. and place the inequalities they learn about in Nepal's context. These discussions will be followed by activities that allow students to have critical discussions on injustice and inequality.
