eKāsā
eKāsā: The Book Bus eSports Alliance is an eSports club by the U.S. Embassy’s Book Bus in collaboration with North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF). The name eKāsā originates from the word ‘Kāsā’ from Nepal Bhasa, which means sports. eKāsā aims to create an inclusive community-based space for youths interested in gaming to come together, play, and socialize, while learning different technical and interpersonal skills.
What we do
While creating an inclusive gaming community accessible to gamers of all backgrounds and levels the eKāsā aims to promote the positive impacts gaming culture can have on youths while helping them explore careers in the eSports industry. The club offers gamers to get out of their comfort zone and be a cause of a larger impact.
Nurture Gaming Community
eKāsā aims to create and nurture the newly growing eSports community in Nepal. eKāsā has an active growing online community in Discord with 100+ gamers. They interact regularly in different text and voice channels, share tips, resources, and memes, discuss game plays of different games, and regularly team up and play together online. And every week they get together in-person to participate in Game Jams.
Weekly Game Jams
Every Saturday, eKāsā hosts Game Jams at Quixote’s Cove where gamers of different backgrounds and levels come to play various video games, board games, and team-building activities. We have hosted different games like Valorant, Mobile Legends, FIFA 21, PUBG, Call of Duty, Asphalt 9, etc. every week since April 2022. You can also be a part of it! Future Plans
Once we form the club, members will receive professional training on community building, technical, STEAM, and gaming/streaming skills. The club will host different regional and national eSport events and tournaments. eKāsā aims to promote eSports in education by creating eSport clubs in different schools and communities.
