Media Literacy and Writing Workshop

The Media Literacy and Writing (MLW) workshop is a course that helps build an individual's ability to evaluate the accuracy, perspective, credibility and relevance of information and use this information to write informative texts to examine and convey complex ideas clearly and accurately.

What we do

The Media Literacy Workshop encourages participants to evaluate information and form their own opinions! 

Learning Outcomes

Particpants will evaluate the accuracy, credibility and relevance of information. They will be able to find information and write informative texts in clear and consise ways, while understanding the importance of avoiding plagiarism. 

Activities

Participants will research a topic and write informative texts on their topic of research. Following the writing process, participants will produce several drafts and finalize their writing with feedback from facilitators and their peers. They will then collaborate to compile their writing in a mock newspaper.
