NINE LIVES: A Recollection

Dr. Khagendra Bahadur Shrestha

From a humble Newa kid to someone climbing ranks in the army, trekking across Nepal with the crown prince, parachuting down Tundikhel, and later serving as the royal physician – I have had a colourful life to say the least.

Looking back at almost nine decades, I have lived through tragedy, disease, and terrible accidents of history. But I have also lived through happiness, joy, laughter – all with my family and friends. I never said no to a new experience, and I am glad I could do that.

You could say I have lived nine lives like a cat. And I would not have it any other way.
